Well this is a fabulous donation. All managed by RAWCSThe Victorian Government has donated $500,000 to the Australian-Ukrainian community’s Ukraine Crisis Appeal (UCA) to support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine and assist in the rebuilding of critical infrastructure under the United24 program initiated by President Zelenskyy.

Mr Stefan Romaniw OAM, Co-Chair of the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO) said “Our community is extremely grateful for this sizeable donation from the Victorian Government. The funds will assist our charity, a collaboration between the AFUO, RAWCS - Rotary Australia World Community Service and Caritas Ukraine, to provide emergency shelter, food and medical supplies to the millions of Ukrainians affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.”

The Victorian Premier, Dan Andrews, made the announcement in a letter to the AFUO, noting the donation complements the Victorian Government’s ongoing assistance to the local Ukrainian community, which has recently welcomed close to two thousand displaced people from Ukraine.

The new school year is starting in Congo but our RAWCS project "Mama Wimbi" has been out of action in the run-up period, for lack of premises.
SewAid is providing the big long-term solution and we've fund-raised to provide the school fees in the short term. We can now cover 42 of the children but these 12 still need help. Can you save the school year for one?

SUPPORT UKRAINE - EAT CHICKEN KYIV 🍗

Ukraine Crisis Appeal, Australia’s largest tax-deductible fundraising effort for Ukraine, is urging food-lovers and retailers around Australia to take part in an ‘Eat Chicken Kyiv’ fundraiser for war-torn Ukraine.

Andrea Palmer, co-organiser of the event, said, “The idea is simple. Throw a Chicken Kyiv lunch or dinner party and ask your guests to donate the cost of a restaurant meal to the Ukraine Crisis Appeal.

“Anyone can do it anywhere in the world. And best of all – all funds raised go to the Ukraine Crisis Appeal, which has raised $6.7 million since February 2022 to provide essential humanitarian aid such as food, hygiene kits, medical aid and accommodation” she added.

John Nichol, co-organiser, explains, “Hosts can register with us and receive a free entertainment pack complete with inspirational recipes, decoration ideas and printable Ukrainian flags.”

“Retailers can also register their involvement in the campaign, and receive marketing support including posters and mini Ukrainian toothpick flags to decorate Chicken Kyivs.”

Ukraine Сrisis Appeal is a collaboration between the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO), RAWCS - Rotary Australia World Community Services, Caritas Ukraine and Rotary Kyiv.
